How Our Network Works for Homeowners

Talk to a local provider

Who You Talk To

You talk to an independent provider in our network. That is a local business that pours concrete for a living. Professorinnocent Concrete makes the connection. The provider does the work, sets the price and signs the contract.

What Happens on the Call

Expect plain questions. What do you want built? How big is it? How old is the house? Is there an old slab? Where does water run in a storm? Have past repairs been done nearby?

The provider may suggest a site visit. That is normal on an older home. Hidden surprises are common, and a photo rarely shows them all.

What to Ask a Provider

Keep this list handy:

  • Have you poured on older homes like mine?
  • How will you handle the old slab and the base under it?
  • What is the plan for drainage and freeze-thaw cycles?
  • How close is the work to my foundation, and what is the plan there?
  • Who pulls permits?
  • What happens if you find something unexpected?
  • Can I have the quote in writing?

Ask before pouring. Old house, careful slab.

You Are in Control

You can ask questions. You can compare quotes. You can say no. There is no obligation to hire the first provider you speak with. If a provider rushes you or will not put things in writing, move on.

If your real issue is a failing foundation, talk to foundation repair experts first. Concrete flatwork can wait until the structure is sound.
